Team Selection Process

Hello to All our playing members for the 2025 season.

We hope you all have a great season of bowls.

All the match sheets are on the notice board in the dining room, these cater for Friendlies (middle row), Mens matches (top row) and Ladies Matches (bottom row).

Just a quick email to remind our previous members but to also advise any new members on the process of how we (Club Captains & Vice Captains) select teams for matches.

Friendlies Matches

We select names based on how many matches they have played during the season, if you are not selected as we only have a certain amount of players required for each game, please don't be too disappointed. 

This has been a proven method that is fair and allows for all our playing members to play Friendly Matches.

The matches aren't serious, so don't feel you have to be National level to compete, they are fun, social and a great way to improve your own game.

Many members who have been unsure to put their name down for their first game, after playing that first game, now can't get enough!

Competitive Matches

We select these differently for obvious reasons, we want our strongest players available as the teams we are facing are playing to win.

That being said, we can only select from the names on the sheet and if there aren't enough names or if some players are absent, this gives members the chance to shine and show the selectors what you can do!
