County Junior Championship.
This one-day countywide event took place at Aylesbury Town Bowls Club on Saturday where Junior Bowlers from across the county competed in both the Bucks Bowls Association Under-18 and Under-14 tournaments. The winners were Johnathan who won the Under-18s trophy and Lewis who won the Under-14s, both representing Newport Pagnell bowls club
All the youngsters who attended had a great day and for many of the Junior Academy members it was their first time bowling away from their home club - so it was great practice and a great experience.
Well done to all our stars of the future and thanks must go to all the volunteers from Aylesbury Town club for helping host the event and making it a success.
We are a very friendly club with a good mix of competitive and social bowlers. We have entries in National, County and local competitions and leagues. All members are encouraged to participate in internal competitions and to represent the club in external competitions. However those colleagues who wish to bowl on a purely social basis are considered equally valued members of the club.
Friday evening is 'Club Night', where teams are drawn to give a good balance of experience, and less experienced bowlers the chance to play together, the majority of people stay to enjoy a social drink and a hot dog or burger after the game.
There is a 'more casual' roll up every Tuesday morning starting at 10:00am sharp (sign in by 09:55) when new bowlers can find themselves paired with and learning from the more experienced players in the club.
New members of all ages and abilities are very welcome and coaching sessions are run on Saturday mornings and other times by arrangement.
During the winter we have carpet bowls sessions in the main clubhouse as well as other social events including quiz, bingo and race nights.
New bowler or very experienced, major competition standard or purely social bowler - the main goal at AYLESBURY TOWN is :
"for everybody to enjoy their bowling"

To promote, safeguard and foster the level green game of bowls in accordance with the rules and regulations of Bowls England, and the Crystal laws of the Sport of Bowls.
