Rules & Regulations
CLUB COMPETITION RULES 2025 ONLY
- ELIGIBILITY - All competitors must be playing members of the club when they enter the competitions and MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR FINALS WEEKEND (Sept 13th and 14th).
A further Stipulation for the Novices Competition is that - If you have won a Singles competition at any Outdoor Club within the last 5 years you will not be eligible for the Novice Competition at Aylesbury Town
- DATES AND TIMES - All matches will be on set dates and at set times. If you cannot make that date please re-arrange between yourselves so that the match is completed before the date of the next round. (Can be played before or after the set date)
Matches will be played on a Mondays (See Individual Sheets for Times and Rinks)
- will be required for Singles Matches. The top person named on a match to arrange the marker.
All competitions must be played under The World Bowls Laws of the Sport of Bowls and the Aylesbury Town Bowls Club Bye Laws
- DRESS CODE - The DRESS code for all Players and Markers will be White or Club Shirts and Grey Trousers/Skirts/Shorts (except for Finals which will be played in Whites)
- EQUIPMENT
Jacks - Toss for first Jack
- Markers and Leads to use their own measures and only spray chalk.
- Markers or Skips only to complete scorecards.
- DURATION OF MATCHES (MENS AND LADIES)

In the event of a tie one extra end shall be played. (Toss for Mat)
- SUBSTITUTES - Substitutes will be allowed in Pairs only subject to Committee Approval
- LATE ARRIVALS - In the event of a team or opponent arriving more than 15 minutes late they shall forfeit the game.
- SCORECARDS - All competition Scorecards with the event date and names of players clearly indicated must be signed by skips or markers only and placed in the box provided, in the changing Room Corridor.
- WALK OVERS AND DISPUTES - Should a competitor wish to claim a walk-over the Competition Committee must be provided with the reasons in writing by the date for the completion of the round. Should the opposing player dispute the claim the details of his/her objection must also be presented in writing. Failure to do so may result in the disqualification of both players or teams.
- COMMITTEE DECISION - Any matter not covered in these rules will be subject to a decision by the Competition Committee whose decision will be final.
- BOOKING/DRAWING OF RINKS - Rinks will be pre allocated this year
- THE DRAW – The Competition Draw will be announced by the Competitions Committee on Friday 9th May after Club Night and then sent out electronically as early as possible. All documentation will be displayed on the Dining Room Windows.
Finals Matches will be played on Finals weekend (Sept 13th and 14th with Friday 12th as a reserve)
