Aylesbury Town Bowls Club welcomes new members, not only for playing and social membership, but also for the friendship that it generates within the club, also visiting clubs, plus the general fitness benefits in participating in an outdoor environment. We promote the game of flat green bowling and welcome new members, our season runs from April to September.

Aylesbury Town was founded in 1920 on the Wendover Road site. The present green has been there for over 50 years. We are part of the sports complex of the Aylesbury and District Sports Club, which includes tennis, squash, hockey, cricket and table tennis.

We are a fully mixed club and in 2010 we introduced new club shirts for all our members. On weekday mornings, dress regulations are relaxed; the only requirement is bowls shoes and neat attire.

The Club facilities and the bowls green are top class. A much used facility by Buckinghamshire Bowls and visiting County Bowls Associations. The club facilities are a popular venue for meetings/dinners etc, sponsored by club members.

The rink is available for present and new members for roll-ups at any time and organised roll-ups are available on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am for full members and Friday evenings at 6:00 pm for all members throughout the season.

The club looks for continued improvement latterly by making the premises wheelchair accessible, widening passageways and doors and installing a toilet for wheelchair users.  Special  bowls green wheelchairs have been purchased using a William Harding Trust grant.  Each year a match takes place against a team from The British Wheelchair Bowlers.  There is an arrangement with Stoke Hospital Spinal Unit for patients to play free of charge.

The U3A have a bowls session each week.  AVDC are running Sportivate each week through May, June and July.

This year using a generous donation from a local business man, and donations in memory of a long standing, and former president of the club, the club was instrumental in installing, on the Sports Club premises, a defibrillator which has been registered with the emergency services.

Coaching is provided for new members, who have never played bowls.

The bowls club play friendly, league, cup, EBA (English Bowls Association) and EWBA (English Womens Bowls Association) competitions.

Come along and have a go during our April to September season. Just contact a committee member if you are interested. We also welcome partners/friends of playing members to become social members, so they can also benefit from the various social activities held throughout the year.
